Sean Strickland's training partner bets on victory over Alex Poatan at UFC 276

But, according Chris Curtis, the North American's training partner, the Brazilian fighter will not have an easy life in the Octagon and is betting on his friend winning via submission.

“Sean (Strickland) has become a very good fighter in the last five years since the fight with (Kamaru) Usman. He can be a jerk and have a kickboxing fight, but he can also throw (Alex) Poatan to the ground and choke him. They think Sean is going to have a kickboxing match, but if he listens to everyone, he's going to choke him out and get the title shot,” Curtis said.

Adesanya's executioner in his kickboxing days, Poatan arrived in the UFC in 2021 and won two victories, over Andreas Michailidis e Bruno Blindado, respectively. Even though the Brazilian is not yet ranked in the middleweight division, Dana White promised that he will fight for the belt if he wins Sean Strickland next Saturday (02). The Brazilian athlete has a record of five triumphs and only one setback as a professional.

Number four in the rankings, Strickland is enjoying an excellent moment in his career with six consecutive victories, five of them after he decided to move up to the middleweight division. At 31 years old, the North American has a record of 25 triumphs and three setbacks in the sport.
