Opponent of Lyoto Machida in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 30, next Saturday (26), Mark Muñoz already knows exactly how to behave in the duel against the former light heavyweight champion. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, Muñoz said that he already imagines what his former training partner will do in the fight.
“I have some ideas for the fight to go the way I want and I think he knows that. I think he's going to use the tricks I taught him against me. But, like any other coach and teacher, you have tricks to pull off. That said, it's going to be a great fight anyway,” said the American of Filipino descent.
Muñoz also spoke about the learning and teachings he passed on to Brazilians. “Lyoto waits for someone to step up. I learned some things from him too. It is a double way path. I taught him some things and he taught me some things. I gave him some wrestling tips and he gave me some tips on striking. Yes, it's a two-way street, but I feel like I taught him more than he taught me”, concluded the fighter, giving up his modesty once and for all.
Mark Muñoz and Lyoto Machida put the former's words to the test next Saturday (26), in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 30 – taking place in Manchester (England). The clash marks Machida's debut in the middleweight category. In the co-main fight of the night, home athlete Ross Pearson faces Melvin Guillard.
