Out of action since his victory over William “Patolino” in the final of TUF Brasil 2, in June, Leo Santos He already knows who he wants to face in the Octagon in his next fight. Even if discreetly, after reiterating that he leaves the final decision in the hands of Ultimate, Leo revealed his plans for a rematch against Takanori Gomi, the opponent of his first fight as a professional, to whom he lost in 2002.
“I'm not one of those guys who talks too much and asks for fights in the media. I'm a UFC employee and I'll fight whoever they tell me to, but I like the idea of making my UFC debut against (Takanori) Gomi. It was very difficult to debut in MMA in Japan and it would be interesting to see this fight in Brazil. I would grow a lot with the fans supporting me to get another victory on my debut”, said Santos, during a question and answer session with fans last weekend.
In 2002, at Shooto, Leo Santos ended up defeated by Takanori Gomi in his MMA debut, after accepting the fight at the last minute. Since then, Leo has had a record of 12 wins and just 3 losses. The Nova União athlete joined the cast of TUF Brasil 2 and ended up becoming champion of the reality show, after replacing the Argentinean Santiago Ponzinibbio, who was injured, in the final fight of the program's welterweight tournament.
