Time has not been kind to Antonio Pezão. Brazilian representative in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg.) and former UFC belt challenger, the Paraíba native was brutally knocked out by Oleg Popov in the 'MMA Series 53' in the second round and suffered his ninth defeat in a row – seven in MMA, one in bare-knuckle boxing and one in kickboxing. The duel took place last Friday (24) in Moscow, Russia.
In the second round, Pezão tried to get within Popov's distance and, controlling the center of the cage, he made the first approach. However, to his surprise, the man from Paraíba ended up counterattacking with a left and already falling unconscious in the cage, after 15 seconds.

In your 'Instagram' official, the Brazilian thanked his fans and family and showed 'marks of war', with his right eye completely swollen (see below). He did not mention a possible retirement from the sport.
At 42 years old, Pezão hasn't won since May 2013 and has only come out with his arms raised once in his last 13 appearances. Professional since 2005, the fighter has a record of 19 triumphs, 14 setbacks and one 'no result' fight. He beat names like Fedor Emelianenko, Andrei Arlovski e alistair overeem, in successful stints at UFC and Strikeforce.
