Cain Velazquez took no notice of junior gypsy. The heavyweight champion dominated the Brazilian challenger for 23 minutes and scored a knockout in the fifth round in the main fight of UFC 166, an event held last Saturday (19), in Houston, Texas.

Known for his takedown game, the American of Mexican descent took down the Brazilian only on two occasions in the entire fight. On the other hand, he had vast superiority in striking. Cain tried to land 340 blows and connected 274. Cigano, who has his greatest quality in boxing, landed only 62 of the 140 blows fired.

The numbers become even more impressive when only significant hits are taken into account. Velasquez landed 123 attacks that made Júnior feel it. The Tupiniquim athlete managed to land just 46 blows that put the champion in danger.
