Cain Velazquez dominated the battle against junior gypsy for 23 minutes until achieving the knockout in the final moments of the fifth round of the main fight of UFC 166, an event held last Saturday night (19), in Houston. However, for Dana White, president of the franchise, the champion's dominance would be less.

The director stated that the duel should have ended in the third round, when the Brazilian suffered a series of blows and suffered a knockdown. “I think the fight should have been stopped in the third round. Cigano is a guy who always wants to fight. Cigano hits hard, he has a strong heart and there is no reason why a young person like him would go through that. One eye was closed, the other had a large cut. I'm not a doctor, but I think they should have stopped. He was very injured,” said the manager.

Cigano ended the fight with a very swollen face and a deep cut above his left eye. The Brazilian was evaluated a few times during the fight, but doctors allowed him to continue in the fight. Only at the end of the fifth round was Júnior knocked out, when he attempted a takedown and ended up hitting his head on the ground.
