Cain Velazquez may be close to having his sixth consecutive fight against Brazilians in the UFC. After facing Junior “Cigano” three times and Antônio “Pezão” twice, the heavyweight champion must have Fabricio Werdum ahead. The revelation was made by Ultimate president Dana White, shortly after UFC 166, this Saturday (19).

“Werdum is probably next. Werdum is the name that makes the most sense”, said the manager to the “MMA Junkie” website. “Werdum’s whole game has improved. The guy is big, strong, resilient and his jiu-jitsu… He will want to take the fight to the ground, which makes this fight very interesting”, added Dana, who also stated that he believed it would be a “dangerous” fight for Cain Velazquez.

Later, at the event's press conference, White disagreed when asked about the matter. “Don’t ask me what’s going to happen,” he said. Even so, the director said he liked the idea of a fight between Werdum and Velasquez at UFC 169, on February 1st. “It would be great,” he assumed.

Fabricio Werdum, 36 years old, has a record of 17 wins, five losses and one draw. The Brazilian has been out of action since June, when he beat compatriot Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira at the TUF Brasil 2 Finale, in Fortaleza. Currently, “Vai Cavalo”, as he is known, occupies third place in the Ultimate heavyweight rankings.

If this fight happens, let's hope it won't be another shame on a global level like the gypsy was. It's not that Cain dominated the fight and the gypsy who didn't fight anything again. Deserved the defeat to a guy who isn't ashamed to say he's Brazilian. Go get ready to fight again with the pitiful Cain.

Júnior Cigano had more strength and a heavier punch. He just didn't win because his intellectual capacity drops a lot at the time of the fight. He could take down Velasquez every time he was pressed against the octagon canvas. But he was amazed as Velasquez slowly tore down the mountain. Cigano lost due to mental incapacity. Every time he fights Velasquez he loses if one of his punches in the air doesn't hit his opponent's chin. Rating 4 for Cigano’s lack of determination.

I completely agree with lungstein. Cigano has much more strength and resources to take down Cain, but he seems to forget everything when he enters the Octagon.

On the contrary, he had plenty of courage. What was lacking was strategy, but that's not just his fault. His staff needs to be renewed.

Gypsy was not worthy of winning this fight against Cain, he never had one of the main factors in the octagon, humility, and he shows everyone that he is an arrogant guy, stupid, for example, leaving his corner and pointing in front of his opponent at the ground and saying and he is going to knock him out, this is a disrespect towards his opponent I've never seen Cain with these antics, in my opinion, he was beaten badly, the Brazilians are putting together a battalion to take Cain's belt but I'm sure they won't make it, go Cain, I'm your number one fam
