In preparation for the rematch at UFC 277, an event that will be held on July 30th, Julianna Pena keeps provoking Amanda nunes. When asked about an alleged injury to the Brazilian's knees before the first meeting, the bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) recalled her past with a series of injuries and states that she never used the justification for her 'stumbles' in MMA.

“I had two surgeries on both knees, but I never used it when it was finished and left unconscious. Do you know what I mean? So, you have to say anything you can do to motivate yourself, sleep at night and weigh in: 'It was my knees and next time I will win'. So, you have to say what you need to understand, I know that”, commented Peña, in an interview with the channel 'KREM2'.

No UFC 269, which took place in December 2021, Julianna shocked the world by finishing Amanda nunes in the second round and win the bantamweight belt, which had been in the Brazilian's possession since 2016. The 'Venezuelan Shrew' has a record of 11 triumphs and four setbacks in professional MMA.

While the provocations don't stop, Amanda and Peña continue preparing for the long-awaited rematch. The two fighters face each other in the UFC 277, scheduled for July 30th, in a duel valid for the bantamweight belt. The show will be held at the American Airlines Arena, in Dallas, Texas (USA).
