The Minas Gerais city of Montes Claros experienced an intense night of MMA. With a large audience present at Ginásio Tancredo Neves, Julio Cesar Santos and Mauricio Facção shone and retained their respective titles. To continue as owner of the 84kg belt, Julio frustrated local fans by knocking out Andre Muniz, while Fação submitted Cyderlan Porco Loco in the unification of the under-66kg title.

Julio achieved his eighth victory on his record in the second round of the duel against Andre Muniz. After a good exchange of blows from both sides in the initial stage, the champion found space for a right left that decided the fight. “This title is mine and no one will take it. As long as I can, I will defend my belt with all my strength”, shouted Julio, at the end of the fight.

Fação, on the other hand, needed more time to guarantee the maintenance of the coveted title. Betting on takedowns, he was better than Porco Loco in the first two rounds, sealing the triumph with a beautiful guillotine choke in the last round. Soon after raising his arm, he was challenged by Lucas SpongeBob, former champion of the category.

“I already hit him once and now I'm going to hit him again”, Fação teased, recalling the fight between them in July 2011, at WOCS 14, when he won by split decision from the side judges.
