VIDEO: With brutal counterattack, Brazilian erases opponent in Russian event

On the preliminary card of ACA 140, Josiel Silva impressively knocked out his rival and won his fourth fight in a row in the organization

Brazilian Josiel 'Açadogueiro' Silva had a performance not to be forgotten at the ACA 140 event, which took place last Friday (17). Fighting on the preliminary card of the event, the Brazilian athlete achieved a spectacular knockout in the third round against his rival, Russian Goga Shamatava. The show took place 'Red Arena', in the city of Socchi, Russia (USA). The confrontation was valid for the flyweight division (up to 56,7kg).

Facing Goga Shamatava, the Brazilian took advantage of an opening left by the Russian's attack and achieved a brutal knockout with a spectacular cross. The local athlete immediately blacked out and it was only up to the referee to declare the end of the fight and give victory to the Amazonian.

In addition to Josiel, two more Brazilians fought on the ACA 140 card. The former UFC Davi ramos he took part in the main fight of the event and lost on points to Mongolian Artem Reznikov. In the fight before his, Leonardo Silva beat Artur Astakhov in a split decision and maintained the positive balance for Brazil after the event.

At 31 years old, Josiel Silva is enjoying a great moment in the organization and has been on the back of four consecutive victories, which puts him very close to a possible title shot. His last defeat was in February 2021, when he was knocked out in the first round by Azamat Pshukov. Born in the city of Coari, in Amazonas, the 'Butcher' has been part of the Russian company's squad since 2017 and has a record of 17 triumphs and five setbacks as an MMA professional.
