The Brazilian Rafael dos Anjos He's having a great time within the UFC. Coming from five consecutive victories and in sixth place in the ranking of the lightweight category, considered the most competitive in the organization, the athlete from Rio is already dreaming of the desired chance for the division's belt.
For his next engagement inside the octagon, Rafael already has an opponent in mind: Canadian TJ Grant. “One more victory and I should fight for the belt. I won my last five fights. I've been in the UFC for five years, so I deserve one title-shot after my next victory. T.J. had two chances and was injured both times. I believe it would be fair for him to have another fight before (fighting for the belt), and a fight against me makes sense. It would be a good fight, and I would be one step closer to the belt”, declared Rafael.
T.J. was chosen as a challenger for the Ben henderson, in May this year, but he suffered a concussion during training and had to withdraw from the fight. The belt changed hands and Grant was scheduled to face Anthony Pettis, but the fighter has not yet recovered and the new champion faces Josh thomson on December 14 at UFC on Fox 9.
