Already known as a big name in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg) of the WEC, a former mixed martial arts event, Donald Cerrone arrived at Ultimate after the organization was absorbed by the same company that ran the UFC at the time. The 'Cowboy' debuted at the end of the UFC 126 preliminary card, which was led by Anderson Silva x Vitor belfort, and beat Englishman Paul Kelly by rear naked choke in the second round.
