Bellator's eternal promise, the Englishman Michael Page surprised the martial arts world by announcing that he will face American Mike Perry at Bare Knuckle FC, 'bare-knuckle boxing'. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the former welterweight challenger (under 77,1kg) showed excitement about the new adventure and admitted that his interest in the sport is long-standing.

“My coaches reached out to me and said they might have an opportunity, but obviously it depends on Bellator. I presented the opportunity to Bellator, they spoke to Bare Knuckle and since then it has been moving very quickly. Everyone is excited for it. I think it's beneficial for everyone. It's going to make some noise and I think it looks great for an organization like Bellator. This shows that they are supporting their fighters. You can see this with the potential collaboration, also with Eagle FC. So they're making moves and I'm the loudest one,” Page said.

If for many people 'bare-knuckle boxing' is seen with suspicion, Page admitted that he has always looked favorably on the sport and that he was already interested in venturing into it.

"When it started getting more popular, I thought, 'Yeah, maybe one day I'll jump in there.' I never thought it would be this fast. But yes, it was definitely already on my mind”, concluded the 'MVP'.

At 35 years old, Page was always considered a top prospect in Bellator, but he never lived up to expectations. In his last fight, for the interim welterweight belt, the Brit was defeated by the North American Logan storley in the judges' split decision. The 'MVP' has a record of 20 triumphs and two setbacks in professional MMA.
