Bantamweight champion belittles duel between Glover Teixeira and Jiri Prochazka

The bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) aljamain sterling was not very excited about the duel between Glover Teixeira e Jiri Prochazka, which happened in UFC 275. In a post on his Twitter, after the main fight of last Saturday's show (11), the North American belittled the fight and insinuated that the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg) no longer has high-level members, as it used to.

“Now I understand why Jon Jones and DC (Daniel Cormier) dominated this weight class for so many years. Really puts things into perspective #UFC275,” wrote the bantamweight champion.

Even without the 'blessing' of aljamain sterling, Glover Teixeira e Jiri Prochazka had an exciting duel for the light heavyweight belt, in UFC 275. With less than 30 seconds left, the Czech surprised the then champion and locked in a rear naked choke, making the Brazilian withdraw for the first time in his career.

Bantamweight champion since March 2021, Sterling underwent delicate neck surgery that left him away from the Octagon for just over a year. On his return he beat the Russian Petr yan in a split decision by the judges, in a rematch that heightened the spirits of both fighters. The North American has a record of 21 triumphs and three setbacks in professional MMA.
