Overcome by Prochazka at UFC 275, Glover poses with the tormentor and congratulates the new champion's achievement

Finished in the final seconds of the fight against Jiri Prochazka No. UFC 275, Glover Teixeira He showed humility when dealing with the loss of the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg). Moments after the end of his reign, the Brazilian released an image in which he poses alongside the new champion and congratulated his rival on his achievement. In the confrontation, the Minas Gerais native seeks his first title defense.

“Thank you for an incredible fight. Today was your day. Enjoy”, wrote Teixeira, in his account on Instagram.

At 42 years old, Glover was winning the fight against Prochazka, according to the side judges, but ended up overpowered in the last round. The Brazilian was finished with just under 30 seconds remaining for the match to be decided on points.

With the setback, Teixeira left the absolute top of the 93kg category. If he surpassed Jiri, the miner would reach the Lyoto Machida, the only Brazilian light heavyweight champion to successfully defend the group title.

After ruling out retirement from MMA, the now former belt owner even asked for an immediate rematch with the Czech.
