“Nothing against it, but I think he’s very clownish. I see his 'Twitter' and he only posts nonsense and clowning. (…) I lost a little (admiration) for Borrachinha due to his hesitations. Not many people will fight for the belt and I respect everyone. Got there, lost? It doesn't have this one. He fought for the belt, a difficult stop, but in the other fight he had more trouble with everyone. If he beats Vettori well, he would be in the hunt for the belt. I lost a little admiration, because for me he was hungry after that defeat (to Adesanya)”, said Durinho in an interview with the podcast 'ConnectCast'.

Borrachinha is even preparing to face Luke Rockhold looking to recover in the last fight of his contract with Ultimate. Gilbert, however, talks about behind the scenes and fans for the North American in UFC 278, which takes place on August 20th.

“Rockhold is a playboy, who likes nightlife and women, he likes to have fun, but he is 'good blood'. He's more closed off, poised, but when he goes to 'exchange ideas' it's good blood. He would be a guy from Leblon, facing the beach and loves chasing models, surfs well, does jiu-jitsu well, is in good condition and has good blood. Those who don't know him envy the guy. I’m going to root for him,” he added.

Former owner of the belt in the under-83,9kg division, Luke Rockhold has been away from the octagon for a long time. His last fight was in July 2019, when he was brutally knocked out by the Pole Jan Blachowicz. Coming from two consecutive defeats, the former champion has a record of 16 triumphs and five setbacks in the sport.
