Praised by the former UFC welterweight champion (up to 77,1kg), the fighter was grateful for the recognition and reciprocated the Canadian's kindness. The statement was made on the 'media day' of the show scheduled for next Saturday (11).

“It’s a great honor. I read this and I must say: He is a true warrior. Because he's still working. He's not active, but, he's still working because he loves it. I understand. I love that. I love fighting, and it’s a great honor for me,” said Prochazka.
Former champion of the Japanese event Rizin, Jiri arrived in Ultimate in 2020 and achieved a quick rise to the light heavyweight belt dispute. In two fights, the Czech fighter achieved two spectacular knockouts, over Volkan oezdemir e Dominick reyes, respectively, and got the long-awaited fight for the world title.
Prochazka will face the champion Glover Teixeira, who will make his first defense of the category belt, won in UFC 267, in October 2021, against the Polish Jan Blachowicz. The Czech fighter has a record of 28 wins, three setbacks and just one draw in professional MMA.
