After a press conference held this Wednesday (8), Valentina Shevchenko e Taila Santos staged their first official face-off before competing for the flyweight belt (up to 56,7 kg) in the co-main fight of the UFC 275, this Saturday (11), in Singapore.

Champion and challenger maintained a reasonable distance and had a calm, albeit serious, confrontation in the first official meeting before the duel for the title.

Leader of the UFC women's weight-for-pound ranking, Valentina Shevchenko seeks to continue his absolute dominance in the flyweight division. The Kyrgyz-Peruvian won the belt in December 2018 and has successfully defended it on six occasions since then, the last of which was by knockout Lauren Murphy in September last year. Valentina's last defeat came in September 2017, against Amanda nunes, in a duel for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg).

Aiming to shock the world and disrupt the reign of Valentina Shevchenko in flies, Taila Santos arrives for the duel as fourth place in the division ranking. The Brazilian has been riding four consecutive victories and has not lost since her UFC debut in February 2019. In her career, there are 19 triumphs and only one defeat on the Santa Catarina native's account.
