Julianna Penã rebuts Amanda Nunes about her stance on TUF and belittles the 'Lioness' featherweight belt

The 'verbal war' between Julianna Pena e Amanda nunes do not stop. After the 'Lione' stated that she was surprised by the stance of the 'Venezuela Shrew' behind the scenes of TUF 30, the bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg) countered the Brazilian by stating that she only spoke 'the truth' and minimized the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg), still in possession of the Tupiniquim athlete. The statement was made in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

“Amanda said that I was talking online, that I was talking nonsense before the fight and that she was waiting for me to say more, but if you go back, everything I said was true. Everything I said before the fight was exactly what I did. I said what I was going to do and I actually did it. For me, this is not talking nonsense, it is talking about facts. That's the truth. This really happened. If I say that she gets out of breath when she climbs a flight of stairs, that's a fact, that's not me talking nonsense. She is out of breath. You see that in his fights,” Peña said.

Julianna's provocations continued and the bantamweight champion belittled the featherweight belt, a category in which the Brazilian is still 'queen'.

“Another truth I mentioned was that she was a champion in a ‘who’ division? Name two fighters besides Amanda. You can not. Holly (Holm) and Germaine (de Randamie) said they are bantamweights. Megan (Anderson) retired, (Cris) Cyborg does not fight in the UFC. She is champion in a division that doesn't even have a classification. She agreed with me and said that there is no investment in the featherweight division, that the UFC needs to step up and do this. Am I talking nonsense or am I telling the truth? Because you are agreeing with what I am saying”, concluded Peña.

While the provocations don't stop, Amanda and Peña continue preparing for the long-awaited rematch. The two fighters face each other in the UFC 277, scheduled for July 30th, in a duel valid for the bantamweight belt. The show will be held at the American Airlines Arena, in Dallas, Texas (USA).
