After victory and 'Performance' award, Karine Silva celebrates 'perfect debut' at UFC Las Vegas 56

After the triumph over her compatriot Poliana Botelho, the fighter from Rio did not hide her excitement with her debut with the 'right foot' in the organization

Victory by submission over Poliana Botelho e 'Performance of the Night' award: the debut of Karina Silva in Ultimate it was practically perfect and the Brazilian didn't hide her emotion after the show. At the press conference after the end of the UFC Las Vegas 56, which took place last Saturday (04), the Tupiniquim athlete celebrated effusively and stated that she could not have a better debut in the organization.

"I am really happy. Everything I trained for happened in the fight, so I'm really happy that everything worked out. … I’m at a loss for words to describe how special it is to be here right now,” Karine said.

The Rio fighter said she was ready to beat Poliana in any method possible and said her skills are superior to her compatriot's.

“I want to watch the fight before giving the feedback, but I followed my strategy. When I dropped her and got on top of her, I knew I was going to finish. I was very well prepared by my team and the game plan was if we were standing, I would find the distance and try to knock her out. If the fight went to the ground, I knew I had a better ground game to end it”, said Karine.

Karina Silva was hired by Ultimate after defeating the Chinese Qihui Yan, by submission, in the reality show 'Contender Series', which took place in October 2021. The Brazilian athlete now has a record of 15 triumphs and four setbacks in professional MMA.
