Dreaming of a new conquest of the flyweight belt (up to 56,7kg), Brandon Moreno decided to 'cut the umbilical cord' and left his gym in Tijuana (MEX) for Glory MMA & Fitness, in Kansas City (USA). However, it is wrong that the former champion fought with his former team. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the Mexican fighter explained the reasons for his change.

“Of course it was very difficult. It was very difficult. Raul Arvizu has been my coach since I started when I was 16, 17 years old, of course it was difficult. But people need to understand and not confuse loyalty. I still care about Raul, I still care about my team, and that has nothing to do with loyalty and everything to do with my career, the things I want to keep achieving and the hunger I have to make my dreams come true,” Brandon explained.

The Mexican fighter admitted that he was in a 'comfort zone' at his old gym and explained the reasons that led him to move to the United States.

“Personally, I felt like I needed a change, something new. We often talk about the comfort zone, but what I've learned over the years is that the comfort zone can come from where you least expect it. When you least expect it, you already have a comfort zone around your neck and you don't know how to escape it. And I'm not just talking about training in a cool place. It doesn't matter if the place is beautiful or ugly. It doesn't matter if you have all the amenities, the comfort zone will find a way, and you need to realize this and learn to identify it. Something that has brought me success personally is that I have never been afraid to make decisions as long as they take my career forward”, concluded the Mexican.

Former flyweight leader, Brandon will have to wait a little longer to face the lineal champion Deiveson Figueiredo, who is recovering from injuries to both hands. However, before facing the Brazilian, the 'Killer Baby' will have the difficult task of facing the New Zealand prospect Kai Kara France No. UFC 277, scheduled for July 30th. The duel will be valid for the interim belt in the under-56,7kg category.
