Back to winning ways after five years, Polish veteran dedicates triumph to Joanna Jedrzejczyk

Before the UFC Las Vegas 56, Karolina Kowalkiewicz he had been without a victory in his career for 5 years. The triumph over the North American Felice herrig last Saturday's show (04) began with an important process of changing gyms, which was encouraged by a former rival: the former strawweight champion (up to 52,2kg) Joanna Jędrzejczyk. “Before this fight, I changed everything. I knew this was my last chance to do something. I left my family, my dogs in Poland. I came to American Top Team in Florida. I spent two months alone without my friends, my family, my husband, my dogs. I trained with Coach Parrumpa and Coach Anderson. I trusted them and now I won my fight,” said Kowalkiewicz.

And the Polish woman's process of changing gyms had the very important help of a former rival and former champion of the category: her compatriot Joanna Jędrzejczyk. At the press conference after the show, Karolina made a point of thanking 'JJ'.

“It was a difficult decision, but I knew it would be good for me. Joanna (Jedrzejczyk) helped me organize this whole fight camp. 'JJ', thank you very much. I'm here because of you. This victory is teamwork”, thanked Karolina.
