The middleweight (up to 83,9 kg.) of the UFC, Paulo borrachinha, spoke out about the accusation of having elbowed a nurse, which allegedly happened at a vaccination center against COVID-19. On his official 'YouTube' channel (see below), the Brazilian declared himself innocent and classifies the case as unfounded.

When you hear news like this, you already exercise your imagination and imagine what a fighter, almost a heavyweight, a martial arts professional, would be like. How much damage does an elbow from a fighter cause to the face of a lay, defenseless person? It's a catastrophic image that comes to mind. I didn't come here just to try to smooth something over or to try to apologize. I came here to clarify this fact. I'm putting on my face, because I have nothing to fear. I came with a clean face to talk to you, because I have an image and that image needs to be taken care of. I also come to show with facts and evidence that this accusation is false, that it was an attempt to harm me”, explained Borrachinha.
Paulo then also released images of the woman and highlighted that the health professional does not even show any stains or signs of aggression. He further reinforces the idea that this would be impossible to happen if the elbow had been real.
“She is indicating to show where the elbow was. It has no brand. There is no stain. There is not even the slightest sign of aggression. How can an elbow not change someone's face at all? Especially a woman's face, which is more delicate, sensitive. (…) It’s totally impossible to happen after being elbowed in the face,” she concluded.

Last Monday (30), health professionals accused Borrachinha of refusing to receive a vaccine against COVID-19, even after the fighter was present in a room. He would have demanded a vaccination card even without having been vaccinated and, with the confusion created, he was reported for an alleged elbow.
The situation was promptly denied by the athlete, who used social media to deny such accusations. Paulo also criticized the press' behavior in the case, for portraying the controversy in a sensationalist way.
