After a weekend of rest, Ultimate is back. This Saturday (4), the organization promotes the UFC Las Vegas 56, which features as its main attraction the clash between the 'giants' Alexander Volkov e Jairzinho Rozenstruik. In addition to the 'clash of carts', the show also features the Brazilian duel between Poliana Botelho e Karina Silva.
In his second appearance of the 2022 season, Volkov seeks to return to his winning ways. The athlete also defends seventh position in the ranking and, to do so, he needs to overcome the Surinamese.
Just like Alexander, Jairzinho also needs a positive result. With his eye on a place in the top 5, the athlete tries to recover from the defeat he suffered to Curtis blaydes and get even closer to the elite of the division led by Francis Ngannou.
On the main card, Poliana Botelho e Karina Silva will divide the Brazilian fans. Representatives of the flyweights (up to 56,7kg.), the athletes measure strength to 'climb' the category they have Valentina Shevchenko as champion.
Newcomer to the event, Lucas Almeida makes one of the most important fights of the event. Featherweight athlete (up to 65,7kg.), the Tupiniquim faces Mike Trizano.
On the preliminary card, the representative will be Alex Leko. Seeking stability in Ultimate, the Santa Catarina native will be the opponent of Joe Solecki.
Volkov x Rozenstruik
The octagon promises to shake with the main fight of the UFC Las Vegas 56. Standouts in the category, Volkov and Rozenstruik head to the clash with the intention of getting even closer to the heavyweight elite.
At 33 years old, Alexander is heading towards his 45th appearance as a professional in MMA. The Russian 'giant' wants to win so as not to get into trouble in the company. If he loses, 'Drago' will have stumbled three times in the last five appearances. Today, the fighter occupies seventh place in the rankings.
Famous for his knockout power, Rozenstruik wants to return to stabilization in the company. The Surinamese, who arrived undefeated in the UFC, has accumulated three setbacks in his last five appearances. The athlete's last victory came in June 2021, when he ran over Brazilian Augusto Sakai.
