protagonist in UFC Las Vegas 56, Jairzinho Rozenstruik believes his knockout power will intimidate Alexander Volkov in the main fight this Saturday (4). In conversation with the press at 'half day', the Surinamese guaranteed that the Russian 'giant' will adopt a cautious strategy and avoid a fight over the weekend.
“I believe he (Volkov) won't want to fight with me. I think he's going to try to take me down and we'll see what happens from there. He will not seek an open fight. (Alexander) has greater reach, but things are the way they are. I enter the octagon and take the problem”, said Jairzinho.
Over the weekend, Rozenstruik will make his debut in the 2022 Ultimate season. The fighter seeks to return to the path of victories, as he has stumbled against Curtis blaydes, in September 2021.
Just like the Surinamese, Alexander also needs a positive result. In the heavyweight elite (up to 120,2kg), the Russian comes from a defeat to the promising Tom aspinall and will have his second fight in 2022.
No UFC Las Vegas 56, Volkov will try to defend his seventh position in the division rankings. Jairzinho, who is eighth, is looking to take his opponent's place in the event.
