WOCS is back in the interior of Minas Gerais. The city of Montes Claros, in the north of the state, will host the 30th edition of the event on October 18th. The show highlights two title fights. Julio Cesar Santos defends his middleweight belt against the host Andre Muniz in the main fight of the night, while Cyderlan Porco Loco, interim featherweight champion, tries to take the position of linear champion of the category from Maurício Fação.
Athlete from the Fefel Team academy, Julio Cesar Santos returns to Brazil to defend his hegemony in the WOCS. Owner of a record with seven wins and two losses, the middleweight champion guarantees that he is very well prepared after spending a long time training with beasts like Fabricio Werdum e Lyoto Machida in the United States. Julio and André already faced each other in June 2011, with a victory for the current owner of the WOCS middleweight belt.
“I'm training a lot and I'm looking forward to a great fight. I know he specializes in Jiu-Jitsu, but he also really likes striking. My flagship is Olympic boxing, and my strategy will always be to look for the knockout”, warns the champion.
Julio also commented on the fact that André fights at home, with the support of the fans, and stated that this gives him even more motivation to achieve victory. “The fact that he fights at home doesn't bother me. The crowd will be all over him and, for sure, it will motivate me a lot to attack him and hear the crowd's silence when I knock him out.”
The host Andre Muniz, an athlete from the TFT academy, guarantees that it will give the Brasiliense a lot of work. With his injury in the last fight between the two, the challenger is choking on his opponent and promises to go all out to try to win at home. The Minas Gerais native will be supported by friends and family present at the Ginásio Tancredo Neves.
“The expectation is of victory, we have fought before and that defeat is a mess because my skull sank in and I couldn't continue the fight. I know he will come with everything to defend the belt, but I'm going to knock him out. Fighting at home, the obligation is to win. The gym will be packed and all my family and friends will be there. I won’t disappoint them”, he guarantees.
In March this year, fans turned out en masse for the first WOCS show in Montes Claros, with more than 5.000 people present in the gym and big fights. To further infect the city, the event will have the illustrious presence of José Aldo Junior, current UFC featherweight champion.
