Jailton Malhadinho announces contract renewal with UFC and faces Russian in heavyweight

Jailton Malhadinho will, in fact, stay in the heavyweights (up to 120,2kg.). On his social networks, the Bahian announced an extension of his contract with the UFC for four more fights and confirmed that he will face off against Russian Shamil Abdurakhimov, in an event on September 10th, with the location yet to be determined.

“Are we going to have two good news of the night? I just renewed my contract with the UFC and my next fight is already scheduled! It will be on September 10th, against Russian Shamil Abdurakhimov, in the heavyweight division! I’m very happy with this news and we’re going to go for it”, wrote Malhadinho.

Coming from the 'Contender Series', Jaílton has already had two fights in the organization and won both in the first round. On his debut, he hit Danilo Marques and then surpassed parker porter with a finish. At 30 years old, the Tupiniquim athlete has a record of 16 positive results and two negative results in the sport.

Abdurakhimov, in turn, occupies 12th place in the rankings at 120,2kg. The Russian now has 20 wins and seven setbacks, but has lost his last three fights in the company and is under pressure for the fight. In his career, he has already beaten names like Andrei Arlovski, Walt Harris e Marcin tybura.
