Glover Teixeira came out in defense of Charles of the Bronx. In an interview with the podcast 'The MMA Hour', the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg.) criticized the UFC's decision to take the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.) from his compatriot after failing to cut weight for the fight against Justin gaethje No. UFC 274.

“Man, he’s still the champion to me, to everyone and in his mind. It was a shame. It was ridiculous. If it was a few kilos, I would say it was unprofessional of him, but he weighed half a kilo over and everyone knows about the scale problem. Yeah man, he's the champion. He’s still the champion”, analyzed Teixeira.

Despite the problem with the scale, Charles had his belt taken away, but remained on the card for a confrontation against Gaethje. In the fight, the Brazilian did not let himself get discouraged and submitted him with a rear naked choke in the first round. Glover, on the other hand, is now preparing to try to defend the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg.) for the first time in the clash against Jiri Prochazka, valid by UFC 275. The event takes place on July 11th.

Glover and Do Bronx are two of the main Brazilian names in MMA today. Furthermore, they went through major upheavals in their careers to reach the top of the light heavyweight and light heavyweight divisions, respectively.
