Sad news in the world of mixed martial arts: Argentine ex-UFC fighter Eduardo Larenas was arrested, along with his wife Gladys Rosana Lopez, on murder charges, in the province of Quebec (CAN). The couple had their bail application denied and will await trial in custody.

Initially, Larenas and his wife called the province's emergency number alleging an alleged invasion of the house where they were staying, which belonged to close relatives. However, when the police arrived at the scene, they found a 17-year-old boy dead, with stab marks and his face bloodied to the point that he was initially unrecognizable.
Authorities soon suspected something was wrong, and a short time later, Larenas and his wife were arrested. According to the police, the version presented by the couple about the 'invasion' did not match the evidence found at the crime scene and there is a suspicion that the young man's murder was linked to organized crime. The former UFC athlete and his partner had their request for bail denied and both will await trial behind bars.
Eduardo Larenas only had one fight with Ultimate gloves, in March 2006, and was knocked out by the American Tom Murphy, in the third round. At 39 years old, the Argentine has not fought professionally since 2018 and has a record in the sport of six triumphs and six setbacks.
