Close to returning to MMA, Conor McGregor guarantees that he will return to the boxing ring in the future

In the final stages of recovery from a serious leg injury, Conor McGregor has plans for the future that involve not only MMA, but also boxing.

In a recent interview with “Sky Sports”, the former UFC featherweight (up to 65,7 kg) and lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) champion guaranteed that his next fight will be in the UFC octagon, but reaffirmed his love for the noble art and assured that he intends to return to the boxing ring in the future.

“Boxing is my first love in combat sports. I had an incredible experience the last time I was there (boxing). Obviously, my return will be inside the Octagon for the UFC and mixed martial arts. This story is far from over. In fact, this story is being written, it's just the beginning – so that's where I'll make my return. But, as for boxing, I will grace the rings again, for sure, in the future”, guaranteed the “Notório”.

Conor McGregor he had his first experience in boxing in 2017, when he faced the undefeated multi-time world champion Floyd Mayweather. Despite the technical knockout suffered in the tenth round, the duel earned the Irishman even more fans and followers and an increase in his fortune.

The Irishman is recovering from a broken leg suffered during the trilogy against Dustin poirier, UFC 264, in July last year. Despite still being, by far, the most popular name in MMA, the Irishman isn't having a great time in the Octagon, having won just one of his last four fights.
