Anderson Silva's idol congratulates the Brazilian fighter on his success in boxing: 'I'm impressed'

Veteran of the noble art, Roy Jones Jr showed that he is following the Spider's new trajectory and indicated the possibility of facing him in the future

The success of Anderson Silva in boxing it has been attracting the attention of even the athletes that 'Spider' himself has as a reference for his career. The veteran of the noble art and Brazilian idol, the American Roy Jones Jr, made a post on his Instagram praising the former UFC champion and left open the possibility of facing him in the future.

“I see you Anderson. I'm impressed, so I won't sleep on you. Just in case. Stay ready so I don't have to prepare. But good work. Congratulations,” wrote Jones Jr.

Considered one of the biggest names in boxing history, Jones JR fought professionally from 1989 until 2018. During his career, the American took to the ring 75 times and had a record of 66 victories, 47 of which were knockouts and nine defeats. Anderson Silva He always publicly expressed his idolization for the veteran, even asking to face him on some occasions.

Since retiring from mixed martial arts, Anderson has switched to boxing and has stepped into the ring on three different occasions and has been successful so far. The Brazilian athlete defeated Mexican Julio Cesar Chavez JR, in his opponent's city and knocked out the former UFC veteran Tito Ortiz. In his last fight, last Saturday (21), the 'Spider' had an exhibition fight against his compatriot Bruno Caveira.
