The specter of dismissals returned to haunt UFC athletes. This weekend, the Japanese Yushin Okami and Canadian Mike Ricci left the organization's fighter casting.
Okami, who became a challenger for the middleweight belt, being defeated by Anderson Silva at UFC Rio, in 2011, he had been recovering in the organization with three victories, but the devastating setback against Ronaldo Jacare at UFC Fight Night 28 were decisive for his cut.
In turn, Ricci, who was a participant and finalist in TUF 16, was coming off a setback following a split decision loss to Miles Jury at UFC 165. He had previously lost to Colton Smith in December 2012 and defeated Colin Fletcher in March this year.
