The Brazilian Lyoto Machida will bring forward his debut at middleweight. This is because English Michael Bisping suffered an injury during training and the Brazilian karateka accepted the challenge to face Mark Munoz at UFC Fight Night 30, which takes place on October 26, in Manchester. Previously, Machida was scheduled to face Tim Kennedy on November 6th.
The reason for Bisping's withdrawal was the retina in his right eye, the same one that the Englishman had operated on in June. UFC President Dana White said the organization will do everything “We are going to give Bisping the best treatment possible. Let’s hope he’s able to get through this,” the manager told ESPN.
With Machida's announcement to face Munoz, the UFC has not yet defined who Tim Kennedy's new opponent will be at UFC Fight Night 31.
