“I'm a UFC employee, I'm ready to fight anyone. Yes, I would fight (against Stephen Thompson), I would fight anyone in the category. I'm not afraid of anyone. I would even fight with Chimaev, who many said they were afraid of and I always said I'm not afraid of this guy. I want to work and do what has to be done, which is fight. I’m here for whatever my boss Dana White wants”, replied the Brazilian.

The victory over Santiago Ponzinibbio marked the fifth consecutive triumph for Michael Pereira in the UFC octagon. With the result, the Brazilian should finally debut in the division's rankings, as the Argentine entered the fight as fourteenth placed in the category.
