Chris Weidman managed, in July, what many considered impossible: knocking out Anderson Silva. However, the North American, who is scheduled to rematch Spider at UFC 168, reveals that he already imagined having to defeat the Brazilian twice to be considered the 'real' middleweight champion.

“He is the best of all time. People can't swallow the fact that he lost. When I was preparing for that fight, I knew we would have a rematch. I knew I had to prove everyone wrong again,” Weidman said during the UFC 168 press conference.

With the responsibility of having to defeat Anderson twice, Weidman believes that even with a new triumph they will still question his reign in the middleweight division. “Even after this next fight, when I win, there will still be a lot of doubters out there. No matter what happens, they will always come up with excuses to justify their victory. This is part of the sport”, added the champion.

The fight between Chris Weidman e Anderson Silva will be the main attraction of UFC 168, an event that takes place on December 28th, in Las Vegas, in the United States.
