Initially scheduled to take place on May 14th, the boxing event with Anderson Silva and Floyd Mayweather had to be postponed due to the death of Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the United Arab Emirates. The fighters, however, chose to pay tribute to the sheikh in presentations taking place this Saturday (21).

The new event remained in the Emirates, but was transferred from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, the country's capital, under the name 'Abu Dhabi Unity'. Former UFC middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), Anderson Silva is the co-main fight of the event. The “Spider” faces compatriot Bruno Caveira, champion of the UAE Warriors, the biggest MMA event in the Middle East.
The main fight is the legend of the noble art Floyd Mayweather. The former world champion returns to the ring to face Don Moore, an undefeated boxer who has not performed since 2016.
The tribute, therefore, does not involve the global titans – who organizes the show in the country. In fact, in an official statement, the organizer announced that the event will take place on a new date, October 15th, with no details as to whether Anderson Silva and Floyd Mayweather will remain on the card.
