The time is coming. This Saturday (21), in Abu Dhabi, Anderson Silva returns to the ring for his third appearance since leaving the UFC. Opponent of Bruno Caveira, in an exhibition boxing fight, 'Spider' tries to give fans a new show.

Considered by many to be the best MMA fighter of all time, Silva wants to expand the good moment in the 'noble art'. At the weekend, the Brazilian wants to prove that, even at 47 years old, he is capable of continuing to 'take the breath away' of those who admire his work.

The year was 2006 and Anderson Silva he was making his second appearance with UFC gloves. On that occasion, the Brazilian would face Rich Franklin for the middleweight belt (under 83,9kg).

Facing the Brazilian, who would go on to enchant the world of MMA, Franklin was looking for his third title defense, but ended up living a true nightmare before the eyes of the spectators at UFC 64. In the fight, fans were able to watch a true massacre of 'Spider'. Precise, forceful and merciless, the São Paulo native achieved victory in the first round, with a historic knockout, and beginning one of the longest reigns in the history of the sport.

What happens when two MMA legends come face to face? That's what happened when the UFC decided to confirm the epic clash between Anderson Silva e Vitor belfort.

Called 'Fight of the Century', the confrontation ended up not delivering enough time for the fans' delight. The outcome, however, went down in history, with an overwhelming knockout by Silva against the 'Fenômeno'. The 'front kick', which made Belfort collapse in the first round, is still remembered with admiration by fans of mixed martial arts.

There are those who agree that the victory of Anderson Silva in the epic turnaround in their first clash against Chael Sonnen, in 2010, was a milestone in the Brazilian’s career. After being 'suffocated' for almost five rounds, the Brazilian was able to show his genius again and find a submission in the last round. However, a rematch against the 'American Gangster' piqued fans' curiosity to make sure: the North American was, in fact, the 'kryptonite' from Brazilian?

The inevitable reunion with Sonnen took place about two years after the scare at UFC 117. In the first round, Chael set the tone for the confrontation, and hinted that he could repeat the tense scenario of the first fight. Silva, however, spared the fans from another 'ordeal', and tried to prove his technical superiority. Confident and confident, Anderson, this time, was able to nullify his rival's high-level wrestling and, in his exchange, added another blow to the octagon, settling the score in the opening minutes of the second round.

The clash had its ups and downs. Nick tried to attract 'Spider' to their traps, with provocations. Anderson was trying to show fans that, in fact, he was back. Initially, the Brazilian was declared the winner following the judges' decision. The result, however, ended up being changed to 'I didn't answer', after the two stars were caught taking an anti-doping test.

Out of Ultimate since the end of 2020, Anderson managed to fulfill his dream of returning to boxing for eventual appearances. In his first engagement, the Brazilian legend shocked by beating the former world champion in the 'noble art', Julio César Chávez Jr. With his name on the rise, the veteran accepted the challenge of facing another former Ultimate legend, in the ring: Tito Ortiz.

In an event headlined by Vitor belfort and Evander Holyfield, Anderson caught the attention of viewers with a new show. Famous for wrestling, Ortiz was unsuccessful in the new modality and ended up being harshly 'erased' with a knockout from Silva in the opening seconds of the fight. With the victory, the Brazilian extended his good momentum and is now trying for his third consecutive triumph under boxing rules.
