Even though he already won the UFC middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg), Michael Bisping fondly remembers another moment of great importance in his career: the duel against the legend Anderson Silva. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the British fighter recognizes that that was his greatest moment as a professional so far, and stated that he prepared as if he were going to fight for the world title.

“Obviously for me, fighting Anderson Silva it was a big deal. I had never fought for the belt until that time and I didn't think I would get the chance. So when I had the opportunity to fight the Anderson Silva, for me, this was as good as a world title fight. I greatly admired and admired the Anderson Silva, but I always thought I could beat him. I always thought I had a good style. I thought I understood and wasn’t afraid of him,” Bisping said.
The excitement for the duel against Anderson was such that Bisping stated that his preparation was done as if he were going to fight for the Ultimate belt.
“In that training camp, I trained like it was my fight for the world title. The fight was going the way we planned, the way we thought it would. We know that Anderson plays a lot of games when he is there. He is very cunning. He has so much experience. He works in psychology, he tries to intimidate people emotionally and psychologically so that you don't fight to the best of your ability,” said the former middleweight champion.
The duel between Anderson and Bisping headlined the card of UFC London, which took place in February 2016. In a duel with some controversies, the home fighter emerged victorious in the judges' unanimous decision and delighted the public present at the O2 Arena.
