Personal friend of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Daniel Cormier believes that the Russian legend can return to compete professionally in MMA. UFC commentator, the sports veteran sees a scenario in which the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) could come out of retirement and compete in the octagon against Charles of the Bronx. At 'ESPN', the former Ultimate representative explained the position.

“It would be cool to watch Oliveira (From the Bronx) facing Khabib, right? Some people question what the confrontation would be like. What better way to bring Khabib back than Charles defeating his friend and training partner?” said Cormier.
A teammate of Nurmagomedov at the American Kickboxing Academy, DC went above and beyond. The athlete stated that 'honor' could be a determining factor for the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) to end his retirement, which has lasted almost two years.
“Dana is offering Khabib a lot of money to bring him back, but it’s not enough. But, what about defending your friend's honor, if Islam (Makhachev) cannot do his job?”, he concluded.
Khabib's pupil, Makhachev is one of the favorites to challenge for the vacant lightweight belt. Today, the Russian occupies fourth place in the rankings and has 10 consecutive victories in the division.
