This Tuesday (24), Anderson Silva e Chris Weidman held the first in a series of press conferences and promotional events for UFC 168. What was seen at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, which will also be the stage for the duel between the athletes in December, was a very mild climate, similar to that which preceded the first fight between the two. Quite succinctly, Spider saved his responses to fans and journalists.
Asked if it will work better wrestling and his takedown defense for the next fight against Weidman, the Brazilian joked. “Now I train with the great Jedi master. Yoda,” he said, referencing the films in the series Star Wars. Afterwards, when asked about the reaction of the Brazilian people after his defeat in July, Spider was, once again, economical with his words. "Normal. I’m Brazilian,” he stated.
After hearing from Dana White that people wanted to hear him and that, therefore, he should talk a little more, Anderson responded to a fan about the fight. “I'm training a lot. I'm very focused and happy. Happy to fight once again and be able to try to get the belt back”, said the Brazilian. After the response, Dana White thanked the Brazilian fan for getting the “biggest response of the day”.
Anderson Silva e Chris Weidman face each other in the main fight of UFC 168. The event takes place on December 28th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). In the co-main event of the night, the coaches of The Ultimate Fighter 18 Miesha Tate e Ronda Rousey duel for the women's bantamweight belt.
