An important piece in the history of Ultimate, Joe Rogan commented on the failure to cut Charles of the Bronx on the scales before fighting Justin gaethje, UFC 274 on May 7th. The commentator believes that the Brazilian has been harmed and reveals that he is upset at seeing him lose the lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg) in the situation.

“He’s a really nice guy and he got screwed in his last fight. There were some problems with the scale. Here's a problem with these digital scales: foreign fighters. They use kilograms and in the United States we use pounds. These scales are calibrated and then some foreigner reset the scale so they could go back to kilograms,” Rogan assessed on his podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience'.
It does not stop there. According to the commentator, Charles ended up affected by knowing that he should cut another 200g after supposedly being at weight with his team.
“It messes up the whole calibration. He weighed himself the night before the weigh-in and said, 'Oh, I'm ready to go.' Then in the morning he goes and shows up for weight cutting with an extra pound (200g.). And this was directly linked to calibration”, he concluded.
Despite the controversy with the scale, Do Bronx was undeterred and finished Justin gaethje in the first round. Now, the Brazilian will fight for the vacant lightweight belt (up to 70,3kg) in his next appearance.
At 32 years old, Charles is experiencing the best moment of his career. The Brazilian has 11 consecutive victories and has beaten names like Michael chandler, Dustin poirier e Justin gaethje in the last fights. In retrospect, there are 33 positive results, eight negative results and one fight without result.
