Just over a week after being brutally defeated by Michael chandler, Tony Ferguson vented about the historic knockout suffered in UFC 274. Victim of the 'overrun of the year' so far, the veteran analyzed the setback against his compatriot and assured that he will overcome the bad moment in his career. The athlete has accumulated four consecutive defeats in Ultimate.

“(Michael) Chandler didn’t have much of an answer to anything I was throwing at him in the first round. (…) He threw one or two blows, and he didn't like the elbows. I've been hit in the head before, which is cool because it's a fight, what we do. The referee did his job (stopping the confrontation). It was a great battle between two athletes who are at their peak. (…) Congratulations to Michael chandler for using my scam against me. It doesn't happen every day,” said Ferguson, in an interview with 'The MMA Hour'.

The setback against the Bellator legend increased Tony's bad moment in Ultimate. Even with four stumbles in a row, the former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) welcomes the opportunity to turn his career around and, even at 38 years old, he is not thinking about abandoning MMA.

“There are many mistakes I can correct. If I didn't feel like I had the energy and desire to do this, I would have retired in the first fall”, he concluded.

A UFC lightweight standout for years, Ferguson hasn't won a fight in almost three years. His last positive result came in the knockout applied to Donald Cerrone, in June 2019. Today, 'Bicho Papão' occupies the 10th position in the ranking that has Charles of the Bronx as a leader.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
