No fight scheduled since the loss to Charles of the Bronx, in December 2021, Dustin poirier continues to insist on a confrontation against Nate diaz. Willing to share the octagon with the favorite of the North American fans, the ‘Diamante’ revealed that he had accepted two proposals to face the ‘bad boy’. The former interim lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), however, is indignant at the fight not being confirmed.

“This fight was offered to me twice this year. I accepted on both occasions. It's not like I'm chasing this guy. Don't call me and ask me to face you. Maybe he can't keep a commitment. On my side, I accepted twice, in 2022”, said ‘Diamante’, in an interview with ‘MMA fighting'.
Standing out in the lightweight division of Ultimate, Poirier is looking to get back on track to winning ways. In his last commitment, the North American ended up finishing by Charles of the Bronx, in a confrontation valid for the linear belt of the up-70,3kg division.
After flirting with eventual retirement, Poirier appears to have given up on the idea. The athlete continues to seek his first fight in the 2022 season, but does not yet have a confirmed opponent.
The favorite of North American fans, Diaz hasn't performed in almost a year. In his latest challenge, the ‘bad boy' was surpassed by Leon edwards, UFC 263. Nate hasn't won a confrontation since his encounter with Anthony Pettisin August 2019.
