“This fight was offered to me twice this year. I accepted on both occasions. It's not like I'm chasing this guy. Don't call me and ask me to face you. Maybe he can't keep a commitment. On my side, I accepted twice, in 2022”, said ‘Diamante’, in an interview with ‘MMA fighting'.

Standing out in the lightweight division of Ultimate, Poirier is looking to get back on track to winning ways. In his last commitment, the North American ended up finishing by Charles of the Bronx, in a confrontation valid for the linear belt of the up-70,3kg division.

After flirting with eventual retirement, Poirier appears to have given up on the idea. The athlete continues to seek his first fight in the 2022 season, but does not yet have a confirmed opponent.
