Former light heavyweight world champion, Sergey Kovalev is not going through a good time and has moved up in weight for the fight against Tervel Pulev. In the fight, which took place last Saturday (14), in California, in the United States, the fighter suffered an elbow from his opponent in the seventh round. Still, he managed to secure victory in the judges' unanimous decision (98-92, 98-92 and 97-93).

In the scene (see below) in question, Kovaley was trying to land a blow on Puley, who threw a cross in the air and, on the way back, landed an elbow close to the former champion's eyebrow, who felt the blow, but continued uncut in the action. . The move caught the attention of the narrators, who replayed the scene over and over again.
Despite what happened, Kovalev did not let himself get discouraged and continued with his game plan, with good combinations of jabs and straight shots, as well as experience to throw strikes at crucial moments in each round.
At 39 years old, Kovalev starts off on the right foot in his new category (up to 90,7kg) and now has 35 wins, four setbacks and one draw. As a bonus, he also took away the unbeaten record of Bulgarian Pulev, who was on a good run of 16 wins – including 13 knockouts – in his boxing career.
