After knocking out Eddie Wineland at UFC 165, an event held last Saturday (21), in Toronto, the Brazilian Renan Barao revealed that it has already considers the only champion of the bantamweight division. Dominick Cruz, owner of the linear belt in the category and injured since October 2011, wasted no time and responded to the Tupiniquim athlete.

Cruz revealed that he is preparing his return by the beginning of 2014, the deadline stipulated by Dana White, president of the franchise, and facing, according to him, the 'best interim champion'.

PUBLICITY:

“Dana White says I need to be ready by the first of the year. That means I better get ready or they'll take the belt, but the doctor will clear me. And when the doctor clears me, I will be able to train full time and I will try to be back at the beginning of the year. I’m giving everything to come back and fight the best interim champion in the world,” Cruz told the North American channel FOX Sports 2.
