Viviane Araujo was one of the highlights of the preliminary card of the UFC Las Vegas 54, played this Saturday (14). After suffering initial pressure and almost being knocked out in the first round, the Brazilian showed courage and overcame Andrea Lee by points (29-28, 29-27, 29-27). The duel was valid for the straw division (up to 52,1kg.).

The fight

Araújo had a difficult time at the beginning of the first round, after suffering a high kick from Andrea Lee and almost ended up knocked out. The Brazilian, however, managed to get into takedowns and took a breather in the action.

In the second round, it was only Viviane. With a style focused on jiu-jitsu, she started striking and got into takedowns. In the final stretch, the Brazilian even adjusted a katagatame, but saw the North American make the save.

In the third and decisive round, it didn't take long for the Brazilian to get into takedowns. On top, Vivi scored and saw Lee get tired. She continued in an adjustment position on the floor for the 'muffle' on the floor.
