'On the tightrope', Carlos Diego Ferreira faces Drakkar Klose at UFC 277

At 37 years old, Brazilian lightweight seeks to recover from three consecutive defeats in the UFC octagon

Pressured by three consecutive defeats, Carlos Diego Ferreira has a confirmed date and opponent to return to the UFC octagon. According to information from Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani and the North American website “MMAFighting.com”, the Brazilian lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) faces Drakkar Klose No. UFC 277, scheduled for July 30th.

Carlos Diego Ferreira, who recently lost his place in the top 15 lightweight division, recorded six consecutive victories in the UFC between 2017 and 2020, but is going through a bad phase in the organization. The Amazonian lost the three fights he had in 2021: against Beneil Dariush, Gregor Gillespie and most recently Mateusz gamrot, in December.

On the other side, Drakkar Klose seeks to get closer to the division's elite. The 34-year-old American has won four of his last five fights in the octagon, losing only to Beneil Dariush, in March 2020. In its last exhibition, on UFC Las Vegas 51, in April, Klose knocked out Brandon Jenkins.

Carlos Diego Ferreira is the second Brazilian confirmed in UFC 277. The Amazonian joins the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), which faces the former champion Luke Rockhold.
