On the 11th of June, Taila Santos will face the biggest test of his career. In the second most important fight of the UFC 275, the Brazilian faces Valentina Shevchenko, for the title of flies (up to 56,7kg.). With four consecutive victories, she highlights her confidence in her ground game to overcome the champion and fulfill her dream of becoming an Ultimate belt holder.

“I believe that (the key to victory) is to take this fight to the ground. Valentina is a very tough and intelligent athlete, who has strengths in striking and has beaten very good fighters. But I believe I can be successful in fighting on the ground, which is where I feel really good. I come from a good Muay Thai school, too. I see her weak points on the ground and I believe that this area is where I will be successful in the fight”, said Taila at a press conference to promote the duel, with the participation of SUPER FIGHTS.

The goal of becoming champion meant that Taila was already waiting for an opportunity against Valentina even before she had qualified for the chance in Ultimate. Therefore, she says that she has always been focused on how she would get to the clash and says she is ready to adjust the last points in order to arrive sharp in her game.

“I always trained focused on the champion and the fight that is the most important. I go into every training session with my head focused on the day I would get to this fight. So it happened and we are already training and adjusting the points that need to be adjusted, focused on the strategy we created for it”, he concluded.
