Miocic asks for a fight against Minotauro, but the Brazilian prefers Matt Mitrione

Stopped due to an injury suffered in the defeat to Fabricio Werdum at TUF Brasil 2 Finale, in June, Rodrigo Minotauro has been one of the most sought-after athletes in the heavyweight category. After Stefan struve, who ended up being diagnosed with heart problems shortly afterwards, it was time for Stipe Miocic ask to face the Brazilian. The information was released by the “UFC Tonight” program.

According to the official Ultimate newspaper, Minotauro's desire, however, would be to face Matt Mitrione. The North American has a match scheduled for this Saturday, against Brendan Schaub, at UFC 165. In case of Mitrione's victory, the Brazilian would prefer to face him in the first months of 2014.

Rodrigo Minotauro has a record of 34 wins, eight losses, one draw and one fight without result. The former interim UFC heavyweight champion has had a spotty track record since losing his title, to Frank mir, still in 2008. Since then, in eight fights, the Brazilian has alternated victories and defeats. Currently, Minotauro is not even among the top ten in the rankings of the 120 kg Ultimate division.
