Complaints about the devaluation of great athletes by the UFC keep appearing. Now, it was the turn of the MMA legend and biggest name in middleweight history (up to 83,9kg.), Anderson Silva, vent about the subject. In an interview with 'SportsNaut', the 'Spider' reveals upset that his final stretch of time in the organization was marked by a 'forced' retirement from martial arts.

“The UFC does not respect the legacy of its fighters. They use you and kick you. When you're away, they try to destroy your career so you can't fight anywhere. This happened to so many other athletes. People don't talk about it. I had good times and bad times in the UFC. The bad moments, for me, were the experience I had behind the scenes. But inside the cage, I always do my best. It's the only time I have control. Outside, I have no control”, said Anderson.

'Spider's' farewell to the organization took place in October 2020, when he was knocked out by Uriah Hall. At the time, the Brazilian confessed that he was interested in having his last fight under the contract as a farewell, but the idea was rejected by the president of Ultimate, Dana White.

With more than 23 years of career, Anderson has established himself as one of the best fighters to have ever played in mixed martial arts. With his unique and incomparable style, the athlete enchanted the world at his peak and, to this day, he remains the longest-reigning champion in Ultimate. The fighter held the middleweight belt (up to 83,9kg) from 2006 to 2013, with 10 title defenses.
